'Ain't No Mothership: An Expedition of She' is the brainchild of visual artist/designer Cairá Lee Conner under her brand, Afro x Naut. It sought to bring together local young Black womyn and femme artists in the city of Chicago in a revolutionary way, to showcase visual, performing, and creative arts. It was a glorious space where you could hear and engage with work from spoken word artists, singers, performers, and visual artists who are all fighting towards Black Liberation in one way or another.
This free event was held on May 21st, 2016 at the Fulton Street Collective in the West Town area of Chicago. It was hot. It was magical. It was lit.
